Microsft Windows XP End of Support
Migration guide for Winspect and InspectionWare customers

Microsoft will end support for the Windows XP operating system on April 08, 2014 .

This page outlines the implications of the Windows XP retirement for Winspect and InspectionWare customers.

What is Happening:

Microsoft has defined April 08, 2014 as the date for the end of support for the Windows XP operating system.

This means that Microsoft will offer no support to end users for security patches and update, nor will they support software developers who have products built on the Windows XP platform.

Microsoft is encouraging end users, systems integrators and corporate clients to migrate towards Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating systems.

What does this mean for you?

Potentially very little, if you have an NDE system running Windows 2000 or XP, and you are content to keep it going as it is.

Nevertheless, you may wish to plan now, for the eventual upgrade of your inspection system workstations. After 2014-04-08, it will become increasingly difficult and expensive for computer systems integrators to provide maintenance and support for Windows XP compatible 32-bit PCI computers.
